On Saturday, August 23, 2014 the Pet Philanthropy Circle will hold its 3rd Annual Pet Hero Awards Ceremony and VIP Cocktail Reception from 5:00 to 7:30 pm. This benefit will be held at Hobby Hill, the estate home of Bob & Jewel Morris, located at 44 Little Noyac Path, Watermill, NY 11976. The event will honor “pet heroes” and also include food, music, cocktails, celebrity guests and a silent auction. Tickets start at $125 but have limited seating.
Last year’s event was attended by animal lovers and celebrities such as 2013’s Humanitarian of the Year winner, Christie Brinkley, who will pass her crown to Prince Lorenzo Borghese. Local philanthropist, Andy Sabin, will receive the Outstanding Philanthropist Award. Amanda Hearst and Georgina Bloomberg of Friends of Finn will be receiving the Outstanding Rescue Committee Award. Lou Wegner, a teenage actor and founder of “Kids Against Animal Cruelty” is returning as the Junior Ambassador and an award presenter. He was recently named one of the top five celebrity activists. Pet Philanthropy Circle’s inaugural Humanitarian of the Year and renowned television personality, Jill Rappaport, will also be an award presenter at this year’s awards. “Foxy Brown” actress, Pam Grier will also attend the event.
These awards honor animal rescue groups, shelters, pets, corporations and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the animal world. All of the winners receive signature trophies. This year’s event sponsors include Subaru, Hamptons Magazine, Social Life Magazine, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Best Friends Animal Society, Pampelonne Rose’ Lime, Tim Burke’s 230 Elm, Andrew Sabin Family Foundation, Invisible Fence Brand and Hamptons Pet Magazine.
