CALVERTON, NY. May, 2015 – A must for this summer’s to-do list, the award-winning North Fork Craft Beer Festival will return to Long Island’s North Fork this August for what can only be described as the most talked-about and most anticipated event of the summer.  Winner of the prestigious North Fork “Best Special Event” top honor 1, the 9th annual North Fork Craft Beer Festival will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Calverton Links Golf Course, a new North Fork location.  “It will be the same great show everyone has grown to love for the last eight years, just a few towns west,” said Andy Calimano, owner of event producer, Starfish Junction.  Also new this year will be the addition of food trucks. Tickets and info:  www.NorthForkCraftBeerFestival.com. Another sell-out is expected.

“Long Island is the burgeoning craft beer hot spot on the east coast. For the local beer scene, so much has changed here in the last few years,” said Andy Calimano.  “The growth of craft beer on Long Island is incredible and continues to amaze me.  When we held the very first North Fork Craft Beer Festival nine years ago, many of the Long Island breweries we see today didn’t even exist.  This past year alone, we’ve seen the local beer scene soar,” he added.  What is equally impressive, as Mr. Calimano explains, is the fact that “even breweries that started just two or three years ago already have the wheels in motion for production expansion.  More new Long Island breweries are on the horizon.  If you love craft beer, Long Island is a great place to be right now.”

The Brewers Association  (BA), the trade association representing small and independent American craft brewers, recently released 2014 data on U.S. craft brewing growth. For the first-time ever, craft brewers reached double-digit (11 percent) volume share of the marketplace.  “With the total beer market up only 0.5 percent in 2014, craft brewers are key in keeping the overall industry innovative and growing. This steady growth shows that craft brewing is part of a profound shift in American beer culture-a shift that will help craft brewers achieve their ambitious goal of 20 percent market share by 2020,” said Bart Watson, chief economist, Brewers Association. “Small and independent brewers are deepening their connection to local beer lovers while continuing to create excitement and attract even more appreciators.”

More than fifty world-class craft breweries will gather on August 8th at the Calverton Links Golf Course to participate in the 2015 North Fork Craft Beer Festival.  The festival will include a broad range of nationally recognized craft beer industry leaders as well as many of Long Island’s award-winning hometown favorites.  New this year, the event will feature a great selection of food trucks, sure to satisfy every craving and pair well with the craft beers at the event.  The event will help to raise funds for the national Beer for Brains Foundation and the Alzheimer’s Association’s annual walk to end alzheimers.

The 9th annual North Fork Craft Beer Festival has two ticket options:  VIP (1:00pm – 5:30; $75) and General Admission (2:00pm – 5:30pm; $50). Tickets are limited and another sold-out show is expected.  Tickets can be purchased at www.NorthForkCraftBeerFestival.com . Tickets include a 5 oz. souvenir tasting glass with the freedom to enjoy 2 oz. samples from any exhibiting brewery.  Designated driver tickets are available for $10 each.  Food is not included in the price of the ticket, but will be for sale from local food trucks. No one under 21 is permitted and valid photo ID is required for entry.  No children or pets permitted.  The event will take place rain or shine.  All ticket sales are final.  Calverton Links Golf Club is located at 149 Edwards Avenue, Calverton, NY  11933.  Parking is free.  Advanced purchase of ticket(s) is required.  Another sell-out is expected.  www.NorthForkCraftBeerFestival.com.
