Moving Mountain Ministry

by Alysia Stern

Moving Mountain Ministry is a Long Island based ministry that utilizes a balance of nutrition and faith to help revolutionize personal health. The founding leader, Sally Ann Heyward, applies the platform of The Daniel Plan to help people transform their lives.

Owning my own business and working many hours, I usually eat on the run and do not have time to exercise. Recently, I realized I had gained a few pounds and I started searching the web for a new approach to nutrition that had a great support system. At the same time I had gotten a call from a friend to introduce me to Sally Ann, this is how I stumbled across MMMinistry. After checking out the website www.movingmoutainministry.com  and reading the personal testimonies of restoration, I reached out to Mrs. Heyward for more information; I was very intrigued. Being a woman of faith, I had questions.  I learned quite a few facts about Mrs. Heyward. So…I decided to conduct one of my Alysia interviews.

Sally Ann, you began a career in music in the late 1980’s as a Freestyle artist known as Cachea. You opened up for acts like Cynthia and Safire. Tell us about that:

I always enjoyed singing. I was a Theatrical Arts major all through school and college. I performed in various clubs, cafes, theatre groups and I was getting ready to tour through Europe when my manager had a heart attack. Without support, I could not continue my musical career… I went back to school and received my NYS Cosmetology license. I still sing; I never knew as you got older, that your voice gets better.

How has your life changed since then?

I am the wife of a NYC fireman, a mother of two sons, and in 2009 I became a believer in Jesus Christ. My life changed the day my boys were diagnosed with Autism; my new journey of seeking the truth began. I found Christ during these struggling times. My marriage was in the middle of an ugly divorce and my children needed daily medical and educational support. I was searching for answers and the power of prayer brought me through a transformation, restoration and healing. God is so awesome! My marriage is restored, my children are in recovery and I am saved! I walk in Faith every day.

Sally Ann, what were your intentions when you started Moving Mountain Ministry?

While struggling through the divorce, I was led to go back to school to keep my mind occupied and not focus on the bad, but on the good of what was about to happen in my life. I became an AADP NYS Holistic Health Coach. The Lord gave me a vision to submit to a Ministry to help heal his people. On December 12, 2012 I registered Moving Mountain Ministry. Today we are incorporated, and we are applying for our 501 C 3. We have a devoted Godly team of seven members who volunteer their gifts, talents, and are very excited to share the Good News of healing with many.

Who are you trying to reach with this ministry?

Anyone who has a mountain in their life will benefit from the program; the lost, broken, sick. Many of our friends and family members are sick, depressed or struggling to lose weight. They have tried every diet plan and it did not work. This program is a way to teach you to live healthy. “Eat. Pray. Live. The healthy life God intended you to live!”

What are your goals for 2014?

I started in my living room in 2012 with ten people. Today we can fit up one hundred people at ‘Samantha’s Li’l Bit of Heaven’ with all the technology that will help support the ministry’s needs. This is a ‘FREE’ program. We ask for a Love Offering or Donation to help support the needs of the ministry.

Sally Ann wanted to thank Samantha’s Lil Bit of Heaven from the bottom of her heart for the opportunity. Samantha’s will be celebrating their twenty year anniversary in April. Samantha had this vision of opening a cafe on Long Island after watching the news story about the kidnapped girl Katie Beers. God takes ordinary people to do extraordinary work for the Kingdom.
